With the atmospheric Oxford backdrop, two great leads in Whateley and Fox, plus superb support regulars such a Holman, Front, Griffin and Toussaint this series is an absolute delight. Well plotted and written it taxes the intelligence more than most police procedural. Congratulations to ITV on creating this based on the much mourned Morse series. But it is so good in its own right it is doing it a disservice to categorise as a “spin off” show. Simply wonderful!
